hi guys newbie here i have a 2001 dmax with 160k on it the other day the truck started squirting oil out the dipstick tube any one got any ideas? the truck runs fine other than that no smoke other than black and no strange knock. i was talking with McRat earlier and he gave me some avenues to check like doing a compression check, checking the turbo and the injectors which i will work on friday when i get back from clovis. any thing else would be helpful thanks.

Sounds like classic fuel in the crankcase - usually an injector leak, body or sleeve. Fuel dilutes and overfills the crankcase.

Is the injector leaking that bad, or is it people are not checking their oil on a regular basis?
I check mine daily, so I hope to never see any coming out of the dipstick tube.....................

2001s have the drain tube for the oil pan if there is too much oil or fuel in the crankcase and the whole bottom of the truck would be covered with oil. and i'm sure that mcrat would have asked him to check that first. so we are probably looking at pressurization of the crankcase by something else.

Are the crank case breathers suppose to be serviced now and then ?

The dealer told him it was rings, but no compression test, and truck runs good. Next dealer said charger, ditto.
Probably injector issues though.

2001s have the PCV moisture separator that returns liquid to the pan and "pukes" a little oily vapor on the underside of the passenger side of the engine. The separator is as high or higher than the dipstick, the vapor vent hose loops up even higher before heading down to the a-arm and will be "recycling" through the pan return line before spewing fuel/oil.
