Yeah I was running way on empty, but I just finished installing the aux. fuel tank today, and wanted to fill up with B99.9 for my holiday trip. It is kinda nice knowing I have over a 2500 mile range at mild highway speeds. I got caught up in the hurricane Rita evacuation last year, and it really sucked being stuck in the truck for 18 hours (without GPS it would have been over 24). Now no sweating in the humidity/heat and shutting the engine off after driving 10ft to wait there 5 min to drive another 10ft. Plus I have been putting about 100 miles a day for work lately and refueling every 4 days is getting old. I attached a camera phone photo for those who are interested, I will post more pics of the high volume pump and programmable timed relay/switch with flashing LED "ON" that controls it when I get back from the holidays. By the way, does anyone know the GPH consumption on our trucks???

Its from an outfit in Penn. called DiamondBack (http://www.diamondbackcovers.com/)truck covers. It can support 1600 lbs. I did a review on it here (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86772). I absolutely love it, it is very handy, and couldnt be more secure. I picked it up from Daves Tonneau Covers, $1500 shipped free (http://www.davestonneaucovers.com/Diamondback.htm). Expensive, but worth every penny if you keep a couple grand of tools in your bed at any time. If you go for one and are looking for an electric tailgate lock (wired to your door locks), I have an extra Pop-N-Lock that I will let go cheap.

rydnhi4x4,
I like your ride, looks real nice. I especially like those black rims. You mention that you are looking for westin side steps. I might be willing to part with my GM/Delco ones if you are interested.

Man, thats not bad at all, I would have thought much more with that size of an engine. Lets see @ .35 GPH that gives me 320 hours of idling... cant wait till next evacuation

I would suggest that you carry spare fuel filters and the tools to change them. Also consider secondary filtration and lift pump supply. Bio seems to carry a lot of fine particles in suspension and loads filters quickly...

What aux tank is that? I like how it fits under the tonneau cover.

It is the RDS 91 gallon through Northern Tool. I took it to a fabricator to take the notch out of the top close to the cab to fit under the tonneau cover, and then had it Line-X'ed. I was going to have one custom made to hold 100 gal, but I got impatient and saved a few bucks this way (only ended up with 86gal capacity - not too bad).
