: Fog Light Lense
EnerMax 07-19-2004, 03:08 PM I noticed yesterday that my drive side fog light lense is missing ?? - nothin broken, just the whole plastic lense is gone?? Anyone else ever have this problem. I assume now I'll have to have the whole light fixture replaced??
Thanks
JimWilson 07-20-2004, 10:35 AM Wow, that's weird; I thought the lens and reflector were all one housing, bonded together.
My guess would be that you're going to need to buy the entire assembly. I somehow doubt GM sells just the lens.
EnerMax 04-04-2005, 01:24 PM Ok - now the other one is gone? Am I the only one that has had this happen? Both fronts on the fog lights are now missing - I'm pretty sure I won't replace these with stock items!
HOOKEM 04-04-2005, 01:36 PM I priced just the lens at the stealer and they wanted $96.00 a pop. I broke my driver side running over a BFR (BIG ******ING ROCK). I'm probably just going to buy the entire set up from dmaxallitech's store for $115.00. Then I will have a spare in case another BFR jumps out of the ground.
Ringer68 04-04-2005, 10:45 PM Lost both of mine on my 99. I think from running in deep snow. They are junk.

Good Luck
EnerMax 04-12-2005, 10:11 AM Ok - so I'm not the only one - that's good. I was going to go with the replacements, but figured sooner (probably much sooner) the same thing would happen again and I'd be more than twice as mad as the first time!!CensoredThe Dealer in Canada wants $95 per light housing - fat chance.
Has anyone bought a different brand that fits in the original space? How do the lenses re-attach, with just some sort of silicon gasket?
Thanks for the ebay info, might go that way if nothing better turns up. For now I have the expensive Duct Tape look going -:t

.
Did you not read my post?
There is no gluing of the lens... it is the both housings (left and right)
$50 for the complete set of lights, not just the lenses... and they are OEM factory "take offs" (meaning a conversion company took them off when installing ground effects/airdams) not aftermarket made ones.
I put mine on Monday and they are just like new...
Hope this helps...again.
BTW...No one makes anything to fit where the stockers go
pepperidge 04-13-2005, 11:08 PM Enermax: What did you find out?
Grey Ghost 04-14-2005, 12:08 AM My lenses are gone too. Have been for a while but been too cheap to check into replacing them. I hardly ever use them. They jsut look like crap now.

Gary, you can get the whole pair housings and all (not just the lenses)like brand new for $50. I believe he had the whole kit switch and all on ebay for $98...
EnerMax 04-14-2005, 12:06 PM Pepperidge - nothin that you don't see in the string here.
I found out that the stock fog lamps are crap as the lense can fall off and that you're stuck replacing the whole housing. (Come on, if the things can fall off then sell them such that they can be replaced at a cost less than replacing the entire Fog Light system!!!) That to replace somethng that failed so easily with the same thing would leave me with little to say to people who say "Foul me once, shame on you, fool me twice...) -- regardless of the price; that nobody seems to make a fog light of any value that would retrofit to what's already there; and that Duct Tape makes for an OK lense cover but a useless lense!
pepperidge 04-14-2005, 02:52 PM Mine went three years before it fell off. Heck, I don't know if a rock didn't fly up and knock it off...I just don't
On the new ones I have, I'm tempted to run a bead of super glue around the seal of the lens, but am worried if the fumes might eat some of the shiny new chrome off the inside. If the old light that was not missing a lense wouldn't have been so bad off (chrome wise I would have experimented with that one to see if the glue would harm that one.
I'm with you on the no aftermaket "upgrades" (piaa KC hella) available to fit the factory slot. but this is all we have to work with...
I don't think we should have to... but $50 every three years ain't so bad IMO
Good luck!
HD-Nate 04-14-2005, 10:34 PM Mines there in place, just broke on the drivers side.
Thanks for the link for the $50.00 set of take offs, I'll give him a call in the morning.

warbird_1 04-19-2005, 08:09 PM gm 's warranty sucks. mine cracked and then spidered out bad. called gm and they flat out refused to replace it claiming a stone hit it. bull sh*t !! after replacing the right fog light the left did the same thing . my truck had only 2k at the time of the problem. it now has 17k it's a '03 gmc 2500 hd 6.6 i might have to rethink my next truck like a dodge. i would really hate to have to do that though
Pwerdmax 04-22-2005, 05:12 PM Pepperidge, sorry for the late reply. I got mine from rich also. he gave me a
