Not sure if my Edge attitude is reading right or not. If I go out and turn the key on the EGT is around 180 and it has not been started all day. Temp at the sensor/pipe is reading 110, I am in AZ. Driving in stock mode I see reading as high as 1200 and in any higher modes Bdwn is kicking in. Anyone else having this isue?

Thanks

I think you're going to need some sort of exhaust change...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

I put a CAT back on mine when it was running the first Beta release of the software and got about a 125 to maybe 150 degree drop in the temp at 70mph unloaded on the freeway.

Ambient air temp makes quite a difference that I've seen just going from late Spring to Summer air temperatures. Edge also told me the LLY seems to run warmer than the LB7, both EGT and coolant, they aren't sure exactly why at this point but think the EGR and CAT have got to be contributing to higher temps.

With my Attitude set for 1350 Max EGT, I can run level 3 in the mornings around here without a backdown, but not the afternoons with temps in the 95 to 100 range. Level 4 gives me a 20% backdown at the top of 4th gear and a max temp of 1320.

Hope that helps.

I'm getting a backdown when I hold it wide open from a dead stop (level 3). Michigan, so weather fluctates, the day it was doing it was about 80 or so. I've got the max temp set for 1350, but the juice seems to cut it out a little ahead of time (anticipating the high climb?).

I could definitely see that in higher temps it becomes a problem.

LLY runs hot ... egr has a lot to do with this I've seen some high temps even stock. 1400 is possible stock

I hit 1250 pretty regularly towing, I've also hit 1375 on the dyno testing a "mystery" box :) No turbo control though, just pure pulse width increase & timing.

I have same issue, ambient air temp is 65 degrees, egt when engine is cold in morning is reading at least 100 degrees warmer, about 170-180. During beta testing the pyromoter that was shipped to me worked fine, then after beta, I received production product and there was a difference. I wonder if Edge is building in a "margin of error? I have contacted edge and they recommend checking the ohm level between the two pyro contacts, should be between 3 and 5 ohms, I have not had time to pull apart yet, but hope to get to it in the next several days. Please keep me aprised if you find something out.

I took the cat and muffler of mine and also disabled the EGR and I have hit 1300 while pulling a pretty steep hill in level 4 on my edge.

Removing the Cat lowered my temp by 200
