I am either doing somehting wrong or the cd player is broke..I press load light turns green takes the cd in...then nothing..It says "initializing" then makes a buncha noise's then says "check cd1" and spits the cd back at me...





so whats the deal?

Also are you using a regular cd? Not sure why it is doing that. My CD player in my other truck use to do strange things like that, they just replaced it and I never had any issues after that. Never found out why it was doing it either. My just be a fluke thing. I would take it in and let them replace it.

Is it a commercial CD or one you burnt? I have had that problem with home recorded cds.


$350 exchange? Isn't it under warranty?

Be careful if you do the exchange thing. Several years ago, I exchanged a GM CD player and I got a rebuilt that came with someone else's problems. Unless they have changed something most, if not all, of GM's "exchanged" electronics are rebuilt or refurbished http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Dead.gif.


Someone I know had an '04 Trail Blazer with a defective CD changer. They gave him a refurbished unit for his 30 day old new vehicle. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

if you do the trade in make sure you get a NEW unit...............if not you can get a really nice deck for 350........

Sometimes a dirty disc will cause an error like this.

Unless a brand new cd right outta the package is junk..then i guess its broke...time for an a/m cd player...
