I have an hour meter on my rig, and was wondering if that was the best measurement to schedule oil changes by: hours or miles?


I was talking with a guy who used to work on diesels for emergency/fire trucks, and he said that he had a table of what hours equaled to in miles. Anyone ever heard of such?

Yes. Definately.


Most all FLEETS use the hourmeter as a standard.

Example: 100 hours = 3000 miles.
