: Part numbers please
Campfire_Rick 07-18-2004, 02:34 PM After the results on the Air Filter Test (Thanks Spicer), I figured it was time to stock up on a couple of AC Delco air filters and a couple of OEM fuel filters.
On gmpartsdirect.com, a search comes up with the part # 97239503 for the fuel filter, but then lists a price of $534.71 !!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif This must be a case or three of them, but I can't find the part # for a single. I want to order two or three.
Also, the air filter element comes up as 25332443, but there's no picture, so I want to make sure that's the right part #. BTW, the $15.33 price looks good, and then you see they hit you for $8 S&H, and while the $23 total is still good, I guess, that sure is a lot of S&H for one part!
Anyway, is there a better place than gmpartsdirect.com? Eric?

I've tried a couple of times to get stuff through gmpartsdirect.com, and the thing that's always stopped me is the shipping charges. If you really want it, you can come up with part numbers, but then there's the shipping.
If I can find the right guy at the Bowtie store (they treat me much better than the GMC store where I bought my truck) I can get some decent prices. But that entails running over there and taking my chances on finding him.
So, Eric is my man for that kind of GM stuff. His web site is easy to find stuff, the prices with shipping are really competitive, and it shows up at my door.
BIGMoe 07-18-2004, 04:33 PM Rick, you might try Eric (DmaxAlliTech) at his website Click Here (http://www.gmdieseltech.com/store2/). He is a supporting Vendor. His prices are hard to beat.
SteveNorCal 07-18-2004, 04:37 PM Rick,
In my experience with gmpartsdirect.com, their website is somewhat difficult to negoiate.
The part number 25332443 is for a AC Delco air filter (A1618C). I'm looking at my AC Delco air filter box as I write this.
Not familiar with the part number 97239503, maybe a LB7 fuel filter.
The correct part number for a LLY fuel filter is 97363539.
YES, their shipping is very high, but together with the part price it "sometimes" comes out good.
Also, they take forever to finally ship out your order too. When I ordered it took them 10 days before shipping it.

I haven't purchased from them but the web site and prices look good. Also the post I read said they only add actual shipping charges.

Campfire_Rick 07-18-2004, 11:46 PM I'm going with Eric again. I've bought from him before and he was first class. I remember there being some issue before which made me think he was not going to sell parts anymore, but if he's still in biz, he has mine.
Thanks all.
Rick
dmaxalliTech 07-18-2004, 11:51 PM gmdieseltech.com is alive and kicking, no signs of slowing down.
My prices are higher then GMPD, but I dont have there backing (large dealership) nor do I get to buy at what they do. But, I dont try and make it up on shipping and handling. The store figues shipping automatically and usually comes up short. I am not a wholesale shipper like the big companies so that costs me a few more % points usually as well.
Campfire_Rick 07-18-2004, 11:55 PM Eric:
My order is in. Two fuel filters and two paper air filters. Gotta have a spare of each for the hunting season.
Thanks, as usual.
Rick
Hound 07-19-2004, 01:30 AM Bill, I've been using them for quite a while now and they've got first rate service. I'd say it'd be hard to go wrong with them.
