Howdy,

I was out in NY last nite and all of a sudden my overhead hoodliner lights (the onse in the overhead console and the ones behind me) stopped working. They won't come on automatically with the door opening or the interior light wheel. The lights do come on manually with the switches right next to them. I replaced the overhead console a month ago and all has been fine until now (went from the small pocket sunroof one to the larger opening Yukon one). I haven't had the time to take the console down and check the connectors. What do you guys thing... chock it up to a loose connection overhead??

EDIT:
... i just went out to my truck and noticed that when i unlock the truck the rear back-up lights do not come on and niether does the 3rd break light (cargo light). I added some extra lights and just tapped the power from the backup light wire.

Seems a little odd both of these don't work. During the day i know the reverse lights do not come on, so maybe the ambient light sensor on that one?? But why no interior dome/ overhead console lights whjen the door opens or with the wheel switch??
:help:

TIA,

Just a wild guess here but when you installed the new console did you happen to drive some screws through the wiring harness, pinch a wire or pulled one too tight that may have broken now. When I installed my pillar pod and gauges I accidentally put a screw through the harness running to the third brake light and overhead and when I hit the brakes it triggered my OnStar  Took me a while to figure that one out...:banghead: :banghead: :wtf1:
I would start by removing the connections that you have made and see if things come back to life.

I thought that too but that shouldn't affect the 3rd brake light or backups:confused:

I tried the dome over-ride switch. Its like it is constantly engaged. Possibly that switch went bad?? I remember smelling some burning the other day. I thought it was just tires on the highway... possibly could have been more. I'll have to take it apart and see what i can find out

No blown fuses or anything... possibly the BCM is fried?? What could do that?? I have some aux lights just tapped into the backup wire, should i remove them before bringing it in?? The dome lights still don't work automatically. The dealer said it could be a BCM on the phone.

Ideas??
