: diesel power’s allison upgrade?

Am I correct in thinking that diesel power did not go with the ATS or Suncoast?

If he did not, then what did he use? How much power is he sending to the allison and has he had any problems? Also, how does the price compare to the Suncoast stage III?

Thanks,http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Hug.gif

I thought he went with a transgo and an aftermarket converter.

You are correct . He runs the TTS 3 way PCM for power and it's good for just shy of the 5 O for power and gobs of torque. He's been quite the test bed . I also know he has tried most of what is available.

Bottom Line:

I know he has flogged the tar-nation out of it and hasn't reported any issues.

Eventually he may tear it down and like a true Transmission upgraded Soldier he should follow the unspoken rule and keep hush hush about the discovery.

After all it is the way of the Internet !

Cheers !!

looks like a lower cost alternative to the suncoast.

My budget is really strapped lately, especially after the wife got laid off.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

Sorry - long weeked..

Yes I have a TTS Converter, trans-go kit, 190 PSI valve, and replcaed C2 and C3 with new OEM clutches. Mike L. did all the work. i also run a PML pan with deep filter and amsoil torqshift fluid (the transynd copy).

I run the TTS Extreme, and beat my truck pretty hard on a daily basis. i have about 15k on the tranny work with zero problems. my truck dyno's around 450 HP/970 TQ on #2. i do quite a bit of flogging on the extreme. probably made 20 passes at the track and 60+ dyno pulls since installation, not to mention a lot of fun and burnt rubberhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

This setup has served me well, and i believe steve rates it for 500HP (correct me please if i'm wrong).

I plan on tearing it apart eventually to have a looksee inside, baiscally because i want to see how the clutches look after a lot of abuse and testing with Steve.

You just took me back about 40 years with that onehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif As a youngster I used to hear, "what in tar-nation were you thinking" on a regular basishttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif what in tar-nation were you thinking when you tried to drive your Aunt`s car? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif I was 6 or 7 when that one happened, and needless to say, I wrecked in to the garage.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif And there were thousands more.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

Where did that saying ever come from?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

cdhd2001,

At least your wife HAD a job! Jeez, I've been trying to get the old lady to work since we've been married. Now we've got two little boys so I guess it will be a while before the slush fund gets crazy again.

I'm gonna start saving for a Suncoast III I think soon, too, but I also have to keep about 30 grand in the bank for a downpayment on a house at the next duty station, and believe that is HARD to see that money just sitting there not able to be touched and all the things I want to do to the truck and her Mini 'S.'

I wasn't really whining when I mentioned the "wife". Just showing that there is always another side to "lower dollar" comment.

Okay, now I am going to whine!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

You can trust smoop's estimate on the price, as I think that's his website (Suncoast).

I would also like to know what your oem clutches look like after that abuse Nick, I would have to wonder if they are holding up or not. From what others have done with upgraded clutches, I would have to say not, but ya never know.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Question.gif

Hopefully they will cut the Single Disc TTS converter open also include that with holding capacity can do. As most have opted for the Triple Disk as myself and wouldn't go with a single for fear of it not being stout enough.

I believe Joe, Suncoast, looks at every converter during a tear down. I know a few that had upgrades and Joe opted to have a look inside.....just to be safe.....first class service.

IMHO, I wouldn't take a chance on having a single hold up when you are already in there. I know some might not believe a triple is necessary......but neither is all the power that is being made either.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif I am just saying......40,000 dollar truck....what's another 200 for a little insurance.......maybe it isn't necessary, but why take the chance???????
