If you are referring to the 4 wires that come out of the controller the instruction that came with the controller should give direction. If you do not have these instructions check the manufactures web page for a phone number.

The wire that is going to be the hardest to deal with on a GM product is the stop light switch output signal need to activate the brake controller. It is almost imposible to get to the brake switch so this is what you can do.

Remove the lower left kick panel under the dash by your left foot. You will see several connectors pushed back in the body under this kick panel locate the connector that has these wires on the 4 corners. White, braown, black and white. Of the 2 white wires you want the one that has power on it when the brakes are applied. This wire is the center rear light and comes on when the brakes are on so it can be used a signal source for the controller.

I found the wire on the brake switch.. 'twas the yellow one. It seems 94 is different from 93- and 95+

:)

Thanks :)

I believe the yellow wire you found is the Left Rear Turn Light Circuit. You are on the output side of the Turn/Hazard Switch. This May give you intermitent brakes as the turn signals are flashing.

GM holds the color code by circuit year to year so you should be locating the White wire for the output of the brake switch.

Naw.. right off teh brake switch.. there was a yellow a pink/black, an orange and a blue i think..

94's are weird.. which is why i had to ask.

My 94 is the yellow as well. Both of them in fact.

Of course, I haven't actually tried towing with the diesel yet, so I could be wrong......

There are 4 wires on the brake switch. Orange is voltage in for the brake circuit. White is brake output. Brown is voltage in for the TCC circuit and Purple is TCC output.

I have checked with GM and they claim to use the same color codeing for the same circuits from year to year.

One I am amazed you were able to even get to the brake switch to see the wire since it is mounted above the steering colume. But I would do some more checking before attaching you controller to be sure you have the brake switch output and not the TCC output even though they will give the same results it is not sertain what effect the extra draw my have on the TCC circuit.

Howie:

Check a 94..

your GM buddies are wrong.. 94's are different..

I have no brown wire..
I have no white wire..

I can get to the brake switch.. there's tons of room up there.. well.. compared to most of the cars i've worked on.. go wire a piggyback computer into a mitsubish 3000GT, and then tell me there's no room under the dash.
