I have a 2006 2500HD and was wondering what the tailgate weight is. I have searched this forum but havn't found it. Anyone know?

I take mine off both trucks, would say 75-100 LBS, never weighted it though. ):h

I would say the tailgate weighs about 50 lbs. It is just somewhat akward to carry. On a serious note, do you want to know what it will hold??? I have loaded a 4 wheeler in the back of my truck using ramps on the tailgate and my 4 wheeler weighs about 500 lbs and with me (215) that would make it over 700. Now obviously it isn't all on the tailgate at the same time since I drive it on.

It can hold a 1000# safe. And that is with the cable supports.
