i just got back from a summer holiday and did some testing on the way, i put back to stock to see my highest egt as i crossed the creston-salmo pass in BC, canada, pulling my 10k holiday trailer in 33c (85f), this is a 7mile 8 percent grade with the final mile at 10 percent, i had the afe intake with the 4" exhaust and was perty much floored the whole way up, with speeds as far down as 50mph, the temps seen to be in the 1200 range most of the time till the end of the pass where they went into the 1300, the highest i seen was 1333, so it would be nice to see how high in a stock truck with stock intake and exhaust, might make it close to 1400 degrees, my install of my egt perrometer was folled by the hoot install, anyone else with some egts stories http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif

Just pulled across the Smokey Mountains, about 5 miles of 6% grade with a brand new 38' Cedar Creek 5er today, dealer tag showed dry weight of 11,700lbs. There was approx. 600lbs of stuff loaded inside. It was 82 degrees F outside. Totally stock except what's in my sig. With the Six-Gun on 1 (basically stock) 22lbs of boost and 1175 degrees F EGT. With the Gun on Level 3 the max EGT's were 1250 degrees F, and pulling much harder than the stock program.

<DIV>hi juice, was going to call you when i went threw but time did not work out for that, will be comming back out after harvest</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>i ran the whole trip with both chips on the 150hp setting, its sure nice to have that type of torque when pulling, temps seam to always be in line other than than the high mountain passes, as for mileage it was in the 14teens most of the trip, could of seen better but love to pass and race the ricers with the 10 k trailer on the back, a buddy came that had a 02 dodge with a turbo, injectors exhaust and intake upgrades pulling a 7k trailer, did very good but the max beet him in mileage and had a power advantage, lost of miles put on to test the twohttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Hug.gif</DIV>

Just got back from a vacation through Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Our trailer grosses 11,700lbs, though we were probably closer to 10,000lbs. Never saw temps above 1,250 degrees. The truck is stock except for a 4" straight through muffler. Even cresting the hill before the Eisenhower tunnel on I-70 in Colorado with the AC on and warm ambient temps, the EGTs were not too high. The temps peaked when the engine was down around 1,800 rpm with the pedal down. If it couldn't hold speed in a given gear a downshift would drop the temps. On a couple of the steepest grades I had to drop to third to maintain speed. The EGTs were never a concern under those conditions.

For any of you Dodge Boys reading this thread, what kinds of EGTs do you see under heavy load, steep grade conditions?

i should state that the milage was figured out in imperial gallons, so in a us gallon it would of droped to about the mid 12, at speeds at about 72mph
