Okay, I give up. Where do I get a harness that will plug into the C-8 (SEO ACCY) 6-wire OR the UPFIT 4-wire OR the C-5 (not sure what it's named) in the MBEC? All I want is the plug that fits in the socket in the MBEC with some short wires already attached that I can solder the leads I want to.

I bought a $10.00 one for the trailer harness, and oh by the way, the pins are oriented on the wrong side of the harness and the one way lockouts are wrong. Basically you have to use this thing on the trailer (C-7) socket unless you want to grind on it to make it work upside down, which I don't because that would defeat the purpose of trying to make it look decent in the first place.

I'm surprised that this thing is that hard to find.

Thanks in advance,
Dennis

I found a place online last night that has something. It was about $30.00 but I couldn't be certain that it was the exact part since the numbers were a little different. Here is the link and how to find the part, if you decide to try it, let me know how it works out.

http://www.rockauto.com Once at the site, click on 'parts catalog,' when that loads, select 'Chevrolet,' then '2004,' 'Silverado 2500HD,' 6.6L DIESEL, 'Electrical,' and 'Harness.' A list of parts will show up and the parts in question will be the 11th, 12th and 13th down the list.

They are AC Delco part #1267 (6-way Brown, the TRLR C-7 connector I think), AC Delco part #1268 (6-way Black, the SEO C-8 connector I think), and AC Delco part #1266 (6-way Cream, don't have a clue but suspect it might be the C-5 connector).

You could open the picture print it out and take it out to the truck and compare the opening in the MBEC to the picture to see if it looks like it would work, but I haven't been that ambitious yet. Might try it if other's searches are fruitless.

I would love to be able to use an OEM style connector instead of cobbling something together that looks like a$$. I didn't want to take the chance of getting it wrong and $30.00 seems pricey, I got a TRLR (C-7) connector from etrailer.com for $10.00, very high quality but of course it only works in C-7. I didn't realize that there are several different versions of the same plug. This link shows the differences between the different versions.

Looking at the pictures of the three parts mentioned above, I don't think the cream one, AC Delco part #1266 would work in the C-5 port. The pins in that port are oriented more on the right, just like the ones in the C-8 port. The C-7 pins are more on the left. Looking at the pictures, the brown connector (TRLR C-7, AC Delco part #1267) and the cream one have the same pin orientation, so the cream one couldn't work in the C-5 port. . . .who knows if these parts even exist? I think the black one (AC Delco part #1268) will work in the C-8 SEO port though. I'm going to give it a whirl. It's only $30.00.

Well, I got the black one (AC Delco part #1268) last night and it fits the SEO (C-8) port perfectly! I'm so happy I could pee my pants.

The plug has leads about 12" long, one (the A, hot at all times) lead looks like 12 guage wire, and the rest look like 16 or 18 guage. This thing is perfect for what I need. A little pricey, but perfect.
