: Upgraded Brakes?

Looking to maybe upgrade brakes after a 6" lift. I may be towing 10-12K so might want to look into mo-betta brakes.

Anyone have info on who makes good upgrade kits?

Thanks!

This is a good issue as I know of no one that has done it.

There is not much room in the stock wheels for a larger rotor.

Consider putting large disk brakes on your trailer. I have the
Kodiak 13" disks on my trailer. Yes, 13" disk brakes on 8 lug
wheels. Stopping is not a problem.

Add four of these to your trailer and you will not need any more
truck brakes.

IIRC they are about $500 per axle for rotors, calipers, mounting
plates, brake lines and hardware.

Here is a picture from the front of one mounted on my trailer.
That is a 16.5 truck tire, and I think you can see the size of the
ventilated rotor.

Your best bet is to order complete assembled axles with the brakes
installed. Mine is a 6000 lb torsion tube. Nice, but expensive.

sounds good. I NEED good trailer brakes. My 7,000 lb axles have 16 inch wheels now. I hope that will work.

I cannot believe that replacement slotted and drilled aftermarket rotors are not made yet for these trucks. ceramic pads also.

I had warped rotors on my 3/4ton Ferd and replace them with slotted and ceramic pads and the worked great and never again warped. were never again replaced or reworked . . . at 60K additional miles.

has anyone searched the net for these?

IIRC POWERSLOT makes an application for our trucks.

Brembo and Wilwood do not unless you and to run a floating rotor/hat assy, but there are big clearance hurdles with both companies calipers, although wilwood,s outlaw monobloc aluminum caliper might fit in a 16" wheel it definately would in a 17" application

WHEW.

Yes i looked into it.

Praise Dyno Brake out of Royce City (?) Texas does a lot of extra stuff for truck brakes, etc. Last time I talked to him I think he had something for the 2500 HD. He does a lot of military stuff and development. I have used his stuff of earlier trucks, hot rods, and the like. D Max hasn't used up its pads yet. Try him at 1=972-636-2722. Tell him "Hi" from Tom in Bend Oregon.
