I was looking over my engine this morning and noticed a ground wire on top of my IP. Looks a little corroded so I am going to clean it.

Can someone tell me what the ground wire is for specifically? Is it ground for the PMD or the injection pump or both? Its a very small wire.

Thanks.

IIRC it goes directly from the PMD connector to the top of the pump, and is the main ground for the PMD.

That black wire is THE ground for the Fuel Solenoid, which is driven by the Fuel Solenoid Driver, which is the Pump Mounted Driver when attached to the Inj Pump - also known as the Pump Driver Mountee, in steaksauce-ese, wherein you should also have it properly sync'ed.

What if any would be the symptoms of a bad PMD ground? I have been trying to identify intermittent H-power loss for quite some time. Could this be the culprit?
