I would say to at least connect the compressor once a month and run it for at least 15 minutes to re-distribute oil throughout the system.

It may be a problem when using the windshield defroster button. When the windshield defroster is turned on, the conpressor is used to remove moisture from the air and speed up the defrosting of the windshield.

Might Be Better Off Hooking It Back Up..

Use a fitting that goes on the high side ac line and will cycle the fans when needed not just when the compressor is on. I know the horton fan setup for the dodge trucks used this. I can't remeber who makes but I try to find out.

you shouldn't have disconnected the AC compressor. you should have just pulled the wire from it going into the flex-a-lite controller. then the fans won't turn on when the AC comes on. they'll just turn on when the engine temp reaches setpoint or you hit the override switch(if you installed one).

Long time ago, I ran an AC compressor without the electric fan. It's possible to overpressure the AC (no condensing) before the coolant gets hot enough to run the fan.

In my case, there was no pressure sensor, and the rupture disc blew.
