I have a ’02 Chevy 4x4 and the front left bearings are loose/shot. My question as this is the first 4x4 that I’ve owned, to get to the bearings I take it that there is a what I’m calling a dust cover about 6 inches in diameter kind of like what is on a trailer wheel. You have to use a screwdriver and tap around under the flange to pop it off and there should be a nut to remove the bearings and race, Am I correct with this? If not, how would I go about doing this repair?
