: Got the Predator last night!!

Well, the big brown truck delivered my early Christmas present last night. Installation went great!! Changed the tire size and entered the 65 hp tune (actually, I did try the 120 hp tune first :muahaha: ). All that can be said is WOW!!! The 120 actually is toooooo much for me. That thing was a rocket, but I don't feel like replacing the tranny anytime soon, so the 65 tune is where it will stay. That tune is plenty fast for me!!! The only difference is that the truck does smoke quite a bit more. Is this normal?

I do have one problem. I seem to have lost my dome lights when I open the door and the daytime running lights will not come on. First, I turned the daytime lights off while running the program. How do I turn them back on?? Also, the dome lights work when I flip the switch, but when I open the door, they do not work. How do I get them to start working again???

That's weird. I don't know if the '04 is like mine, but to turn off your head lights, you push the dome override button 4 times or something and your headlights turn on and off. Try that. I don't know why your dome light isn't working. Did you leave your door open when installing the program? They say if ANYTHING is on, it can cause a problem.

I hate to admit this and will never live it down, but it helps to put the truck in D (drive). That turns on the daytime lights. Nothing wrong with them at all!!

I still have not figured out the dome light. It comes on with the keyless entry, but if the truck is not locked and I open the door, the light does not come on. Maybe I'm missing something as simple as the daytime lights????

Oh well, back on subject, I love the Predator programmer. I'm from the old school of it takes a lot of work to get an extra 25, 50, 100 hp out of an engine. This is just tooooo easy!!! Ok, technology isn't so bad after all.

there is a button on the bottom right corner were you headlight/dimmer switch is at if it is depressed the dome light will not come on when the door is opened.
press it like 4 time you will hear a ding and that will trun you drl's on and off as well. though it default back to normal when the truck is turned off then back on

the '03 plus doesnt work by hitting the button a couple times like the '02- does.
you just turn the switch backwards and it should reset itself after you turn the truck off.

as far as the dome light there is a button that will disable it when the doors open did you possibly hit that?

I did hit that button on accident. I pushed the button and they started working right away!!

I do have another problem. I traveled about 180 miles last evening and noticed that the computer said that I was getting 28.4 mpg. I really didn't believe this, but was getting excited at the possibility. I filled up after getting to my destination and manually calculated the mpg. It was 20.5. Does this program mess with the on board computer?? Not a big deal, I just wanted to make sure that this is correct.

I'm also happy with the 20.5, because that is only +- 1 mpg worse than before the tune!!

Thanks for all of the help!!!

The DIC MPG will not be accurate with tune installed.

I wish I was in the 20+ mpg's.

Not meaning to highjack but when your moving from one tune to the other do you need to restore it to stock then select the new tune or can you got directly from say 65hp to 85hp using the "modify tune" selection?

You can switch directly to the next power level, no need to return to stock...

Nay6,

I don't think that 20 plus will be normal. That 180 miles was not loaded and averaging 65 mph. Filled up on my way out of town and filled up once getting to the destination. I think that this was a best case scenario, but it can happen. Oh, I was also very good on the loud peddle, no passing and took my time.

You can switch directly to the next power level, no need to return to stock...

But if your not using the stock tire or rear gear settings you will need to "wake up" the software by changing them, then changing them back, before you load the tune.

It's funny, I went through the book again last night and it's real good about walking you through the first load of a hp tune but doesn't say anything about going from one hp to another? Seems like that's something they would cover as I'm sure alot of guys do it often.
