My cuz has an 02 Duramax and leaves it on level 3 for all his daily driving.In the last couple days he's seeing egt's in the 1300 to 1400 deg range upon normal acceleration to freeway speeds.All filters were recently changed(last 2000 miles) and idle temps are normal.


Has anyone had this happen and if so what was the cause?


Smoke appears normal just a gray haze when pushing it.

Ambient air temp and intercooler efficiency will play a partial role in variable EGT's .

Yeah he's down at Palm Springs and a cool day is low 100's

My probe was dying causing bad readings. This is another thing that can happen.
