so I was looking at things under the hood today with a tope measure, and though it looks real damn close, how much clearance is the between the snout of the upper intake and the firewall when you spin it 180?

Does anything have to be moved around or just it leave just enough clearance fir get couplers on a such?

I've seen pics of it and it fits ok. I think you have to shorten it to give more clearance for ac and brake booster.

You'll have to move the fuel filter/manager to be able to easily change the OE fuel filter.

my plenum had to be shortened to clear the wiper motor/circuit board assembly. other than that it works great and fits great. keep in mind what schiker said about the fuel filter. in order for me to change my filter i have to pull my plenum so im lookin at getting a remote fuel filter assembly.

I am with Strickly on this, I flipped mine around too and cut about 2 inches off of it to make it clear the wiper motor. works like a charm and looks dam good.

go into my Garage and look at how mine is setup, there is a good photo of the setup.

so did you guys do anything special to help the coupler seat on the cut intake? I'm thinking of grabbing my grinder and smoothing out a half inch band, right behind a 1/4 inch of as is roughness at the end. If ya get what I mean. That way the clamp and coupler have a smooth spot to seat on and the roughness to hold it on.

if you buy the pennisular diesel intake, it costs $60 and you can easily access your filter.

yeah, I'm keeping that as a possibility, but I think a stock chop is gonna work better for what I"m doing

i cut about three or four inches off mine and my reducer boot just barely rubs on the wiper motor. i didnt notch mine but used high temp silicone and two clamps and it has never blown off at 16 psi. it is kinda a pain to have to take intake off to change filter but it seems i have it off enough anyways so no big deal. if you dont have a egr i would suggest the pennisular intake.

i just used a t-bolt clamp and tightened it down... before that i did what db28 did and twin clamped it. have yet to blow the boot or pipe and i run @ least 15-17psi
