On my 02 6.0 gasser I had a Westers PCM and thought it did quite well. How input on this PCM for the Dmax? On his website it lists HP gains 200+. Just curious since I have not seen it here so must not be worth while for the Dmax.

I fingered you guys would have some input. I called and talked with Lyndon and he said the 110hp setting is stacking nicely with the edge. Any comments out there?

I originally started testing them with Westers. The very first pcm he sent me made exactly 199.8 hp and 428trq. Nice smooth delivery for everyday driving, nice and quiet, pedal wasn't touchy just all around great driveability. When the pedal was dropped, she ripped hard. I have had several since, trying to get more out of it and do different things, but i've only been back to dyno once since then and i had injector issues at the time, so the numbers where not going to be a fair shake. Seems i don't have time to play now, as this is my busy season and i can't be spending time on the dyno to have fun and such, so its kind of on the back burner right now, and i'll live with what hp i've got now, until i get a break in the action or this fall/winter.

Ray(whiteduramax) tried one of the pcms out in Muncie and well, he's allready stated what he thinks of it. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Rock On.gif Especially for the 01 guys, its great to get over a few of those hurdles.

We have also dynoed another one on a 03 and it made 231hp and i can't remeber the trq. It stacked very well with the edge as well.

For clarification, the 199hp and 231 hp numbers HB is posting are over the baseline. Plus that thing does have rpms for the 01's.

Seems like a good option. My only complaint would be towing. My EGTs would be to high if I got the power from the westers. I could go with the 110 HP and stack it and when towing remove the stacked equipment and just leave the westers.??? Any ideas?

Can the dealer detect the you have this Webster system in your truck when you take it in the dealer? You can not remove it if you take it to the dealer because Webster reprograms your brain, right?

On my gasser the stealer could not tell. I was told that the only way they would know would be to actually look at the PCM since Westers sticker would be on it. I loved it on my gasser. Lyndon definately knows his shtuff. Their policy is if you buy a PCM and then down the road you decide about another vehicle then call them, they will ship you a stock PCM. Then switch PCMs and tell him what new vehicle you are getting and what you want. You only then pay for the S/H and updates. Very easy to do and to deal with. I may end up doing this in the future.

You would not be able to stack with your accelerator as it is a tuner and you would already have a tune in your pcm. I believe he is going to have switchable pcms.

One PCM for towing and one for FAST? Sounds like that would be a pain having to switch the two or am I off base?

A switch in the cab will switch between the levels.

On my 02 6.0 gasser I had a Westers PCM and thought it did quite well.
Wish I could say the same; all the PCM's he sent me either did little for performance, had drivability problems of some type or both. And his programming did absolutely nothing for mileage increases either, something they also say their PCM's do.

i have been testing westers for the last year, and can now say it is all comming together for his high hp tune, for the duramax, we feel their still is a bit more hp and tq to grab out of it, before all is done, but lyndon and myself have been very busy, their are a few others in eastern canada as well testing and hope to have a final version out soon, it looks to be 230hp and as of now almost no smoke by itself, (a great option compared to others out their) egt seam a bit lower and no surging on cruise, no excessive timing or header preassure rattle. raised rpm and speed govenor, and stacks well with jkva, soon i will be giving 1/4 miles times, just did some lp and rv pulling and all looks good so far, keep informed
