The truck will go into "LIMP" mode if certain parameters are met, therefore limiting your RPM and letting you "LIMP" home... turning you key off and on will reset limp mode (i believe)

Reasons a truck will limp:

Tranny slips too much, tranny goes into limp to prevent further damage

Fuel pressure in the rail gets too high or low, truck goes into limp...

There are more things that can limp a truck (tranny or engine)

hope that helps

P.S. create a garage and put up some pics of your truck in it, i want to see it after loking at your sig!!!

Max 2000rpm and not full shift range. Safe mode to preserve engine or tranny in event of mechanical or electrical malfunction.

...not always characterized by a Check Engine Light CEL

You will know when it's in limp mode.

Thanks! Truck looks GREAT!!!

I really wanted to see it because those are the same dimensions i think i have decided on for my truck (6" lift, 20" rim, 35" tire) and the couple i have seen with this setup have reassured me that this is what i want!

Thanks for the compliment. Yeah 6" lift is sweet looking. Go any higher is better looking. But then I have a 5th wheel I needed to pull and 6" was my max. You will definately love the 20" with 35" tires though. I get alot of compliments.
