I bought a 2004 Duramax LB7 with 44,000 miles on it. I've read a lot of this board that injectors are giong out left and right. I've heard that '03 and prior are covered for 200,000 miles. Is that true on the 2004 LB7 or just the prior years?

The 2004 LB7's are not covered. GM is being very shortsided to exclude the 2004's as they are the same injector. Hopefully GM will wise up and extend the warrantee to our trucks before a class action forces the issue.

im sure gm will change their coverage to include the 04's. its just going to be a matter of time

Just got my 4th set of injectors,I have A 2004 4500 lb7 with 156000 miles.GM is covering 2004 lb7 motors only not the 2004.5 lly.animal

So they are covered? Somebody told me I shouldn't have to worry since the truck only has 44,000 miles on it, but I figure if they are going to go out. I want to know if I'm covered.

i have heard that they are only covered to 100k and the 01-03 are 200k but a lot of dealers are doing it anyways since it is the same injector. i bet that about this time next year there will be a 200k on the 04's as well.

Officially, '03's and below are covered for 200k. '04's are only covered to 100k. But you may find some dealers that will cover the '04's.

I have an 04 LB7 and as of last week, the injector warranty for my truck is still at 100,000 miles. I also hope GM will extend the coverage to 200,000 miles.

You can take your truck in to the dealer and have them do a balance check on your injectors. I just did this about 2 weeks ago, cost me $35. Have almost 67,000 on my truck and injectors are "perfect" according to the diesel mechanic.

When I had my 03 warranty was only100k my dealer told me they were able to get aurthorization from gm to cover under waranty case by case. He told me not to worry.
