: How much HP ?

I was putting some calculations to my recent track times and I'm confused.

I ran an 8.55 at 80mph. My charts put this time in a 1/4 mile at about 100mph at 13.40 + -. The truck is pulling hard at the end of the 1/8th, but I don't know what it would do in the 1/4.

My question is the formulas say it takes 500 Hp to make a 6500lb vehicle run a 100mph in the 1/4 mile. I was only using the Quad 215 and had Attitude on 0. I don't see anyway I could be making that much horspower unless the Attitude was helping somehow. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif I would expect maybe 425-430hp at the most. I'm speaking about all rear wheel HP of course.

I have not done anymore testing, though I coud remove the juice box all together and see what happens.

Any thoughts ?

It's a calculation and your close ....

The 215 makes in the neighborhood of 450 give or take, never seen one higher.

The Attitude on Zero will still Produce on the dyno a small gain. What your final number with the two stack is under 475 HP.

track conditions make a big difference. texas seems to be a good place for running fast times too..

i ran a 8.516 @ 80.144 at the 1/8 marker of my 1/4mi run.. it ended up being a 13.45 @ 99.875 at the end.

Smokemup.com looks to be pretty much dead on:
You Entered:
Vehicle Weight - 6500 (lbs)
Trap Speed - 80 (mph)
Drivetrain Loss - 20 (%)

Results:
Rear Wheel HP - 452
Crankshaft HP - 565
Power to Weight (rwhp) - 14.4 (lower is better)
Power to Weight (crank hp) - 11.5 (lower is better)
