What is the best way to get the fluid out of the converter without having to go to a shop and hook up to a flush machine?

Anyone have pictures of that spring clip "doohickie" that you have to remove from the cooler return line? That's the only part of the evolution I'm uncomfortable with. JJ http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

I wish I would have seen this earlier today. I just pulled the line off and cut it so I could put in my trans temp probe. I could have taken a picture of the clip. But is know big deal, i use a small pic and just pull it straight up.

Pull the cooler line and attach a hose and bring out from under the truck and into a bucket. After you have changed the filters and drained the pan and refilled start it up and let it pump out while pouring in. That is how I do it and pretty much how Hoots article is.

Also if you look at the second post down and click on the flush link you will see mackins version.

Watch when you pull the lines, it may be fairly snug and pop out all of a sudden when you arnt expecting it/ready for it and it will pee on you. BTW for future reference wear some saftey spectacles and ATF tastes like chicken.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif
