Like a few others, I have a problem with the PS and PB on my new truck. After an hour of driving in hot conditions, the steering and brakes will make a nasty noise.

It appears the PS pump is at fault. It could be bad fluid, or bad surface finish on the pump gears, or even just overfill. I see from reading old posts a few of you have had the pumps replaced. Is there any more I should know?

My new truck has 1200 miles on it.

Mine makes noise, just chalked it up to the design, have not done anything about it, 6500 miles and no ill effects yet.

Mine sounds like it's straining an awful lot sometimes. And every once in a while during low speed maneuvers -- pulling out of the driveway, sliding into a parking space at the store -- it will feel as though it dies for a brief instance (no PS at all).

But the service department at the stealer I bought it from doesn't care what your problem is, until you can duplicate it 100% they don't want you to "waste" their time so I haven't had it looked at yet.

Maybe after I crash because the PS failed while I was driving down the freeway my heirs can sue them... http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gifEdited by: JimWilson
