MIL ON w/PO1404 code...this is 3rd time this codes popped up
1st time I ereased...2nd time went out after 100 mi..now 3rd time MIL came on after filling up..(gas cap was tight) & has been on for 170 mi now....should I worry?????....everything seems to be running great...getting 17.4 mpg

If you have not blocked it and are under 100k miles, stop it by the dealership.

Ok...have 62k...is This Under Warrenty???? I Did't Erase The Code But The Light Did Go Out Tonite @ 196 Mi....WHAT DO YA MEAN BY BLOCKED??? PINCHED OFF???? TY FOR YOUR HELP

There is a blocker plate that can be installed to prevent the soot and nastyness to get back into your motor. It will throw a code, but may not display a light. A fingerstick is a circuit created by a member here to let the trucks computer think that the EGR is working fine when it is blocked. Be sure to add your truck to your signature so we know which model and generation you have. You can do that under UserCP and edit sig. Oh, and it should be under warranty if it comes back being part of emissions to 100k miles.
