When I bought my truck it came with aftermarket wheels and tires. They are 285-?-17 and stick out from the wheel wells and are destroying my paint by slinging rocks. I went to my local dealer to look at the flares they offered and they are $450 for black and $650 for painted. I couldn't believe how expensive they were. I looked on line to see if i could find them cheaper but they were the same price. i'm wide open for suggestions if anyone has any

Mudflaps alone do a great job protecting the truck. Remember, painted flares will get chipped up too.

Deja vu... I was just looking at flares yesterday. Summit seems to have a pretty good deal on the Bushwacker flares. I think I might go with those. I'm trying to figure out how black flares will look on my maroon truck. Or as Dodge calls it -- Deep Molton Red Pearl.
Hey hoot -- How involved is removing the turbo silencer?

You can do it in 5 minutes if you did one before. 1/2 hour or so first time. Remove rubber intake off of front of turbo, pop out the internal snap ring, pull out the silencer ring and put the hose back on.

Hmm, just did it -- That was easy. That's almost the sound I'm looking for. Hopefully when I get the 5" exhaust Monday it'll give me the rest of the sound I'm looking for. Gotta have a loud truck with a DEEP tone. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big%20Smile.gif
I have another question -- When I pulled the intake off the front of the turbo, I noticed that one of the "blades" in there had some white residue on it. Should I be concerned? If you want to see it, I can pull it back off and take a picture and post it.
Did you remove the baffle in the big black intake tube?

Yup. I also installed an Airaid intake which made it a bit louder. I borrowed a local Edge guy's box for a couple days to test it out. Wow.... getting mine tomorrow! Also getting my gauges installed tomorrow. Oh - and the tires and wheels as soon as the machine shop it done. That'll probably be about it for a while or the wife is gonna have my a$$. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif
