I just received and installed the N-Fab nerf bars/steps on my 2500HD (http://www.n-fab.com). They mounted up really nice. Installation was a snap, maybe 1 hour for both sides. Very solid construction and the black powdercoat is nice and thick. I definitely recommend them. Cheapest price around for them that I could find was from Rocky Mountain Suspension $459 including shipping. Thanks for the recommendation from the forum.

Mine are shot! The powdercoat didn't last through the winter. I'm gonna have then sprayed when I get my bed done.

Since you're in NJ which is close enough to the Northeast...they'll be all pitted by spring time...they look really good at first..but as you will see they do not hold up just like the others...get em coated now and avoid the problems.

I have them also and like them. i had them painted to match and they are chipping after a couple months. I think Line-X is the only way to go.

I had to put a small notch in the front bracket to make them line up better with the doors.

Where we all you guys when I was reading about the steps? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif I didn't see any of these types of problems out there. Thanks for the input guys, we'll see if they got any better.

Rocky Mountain Suspension's web site isnt real clear on how they mount for GMC. Do they mount to the frame or body? Any drilling required?

Also, anyone have these on a long bed with the extra steps? How useful are they? Just wondering if they would be useful for me, I'm 6'4" and can pretty well reach what I need to hook up/un-hook my g/n horse trailer.

Thanks

They all mount to the body. They are very sturdy though.

You have to drill 6 holes in the body tab (for lack of better word) which the bolts will go through to hold it all on.

I would get the extra step for the long bed, would be very handy IMO.

I also drilled and bolted mine through the floor. They feel much more solid. I removed the door jam trim, which made it easy to access the holes that I drilled for the upper mounts. I also painted the holes and applied silicone to the bolts and washers.

I had some of those on my old 2500HD and the black paint started to come off so I sent them back and they sent me brand new ones. They were cool about it too. Very easy to deal with.
