I have heard different stories from differnt additives. Need some input on any pros and cons to additives used. Some of them claim they clean fuel system, increase cetane, prevent gelling, boosts MPG. Here is what I have and where I have used it. 05 CC SB 2500HD living in Montana and pull a 27'trailer weighing around 6k-7500 lbs average. I have tried the power service didnt really notice anything except I heard the engine clatter a little more, Redline diesel catalyst: has had good results I have gained .5-1 mpg and quiets motor , stanadyne: I actually lost 1-2.5 mpg when used. Yes folks I read the instructions on the bottles. LOL Wondered if I should try anything else. I have spent hours on the web here searching for pros and cons on certain additives especially used in the winter months to help from gelling.

Do a search on this subject and you will have plenty to read. There are opinions from one end of the spectrum to the other. Bottom line is that GM only condons Stanadyne or Raycor additives. These additives have no alcohol and are demulsifiers - not emulsifiers. Simple as that. Racor is hard to find. Stanadyne is fairly easily obtainable. I get mine from Camping World for $5.39 for 16oz. bottle. You can buy large amts. for cheaper off internet sites, but by the time you pay shipping your about a few pennies away from the CW price. :)

I've used Stanadyne for a long time now and I have had no problems. I think it's a matter of personal choice. I just want my fuel treated and my injectors working at the best possible level. If I wanted better mileage, I'd have a rice burner not a 1 ton dually 4X4.
