: How is the LLY performing on the Dyno???
LLY DMAX 07-13-2004, 10:37 AM Has anyone run the LLY on the dyno yet?
What are rear wheel Horsepower and Torque numbers? How do they compare to the LB7?
Has anyone run the LLY with the EDGE on the dyno yet?
I'm surprised that I havn't seen allot more about this.
tbone1227 07-13-2004, 11:16 AM Im sure more people have tested, I know myself and mcrat have dynoed our LLY's - Diesel Power has my numbers: I have a 4" Lift with 305's, and stock was at 259 rwhp, dont remember the torque numbers, tested the TTS Tow Tune and got 322 rwhp I believe and again dont have the torque numbers - will wait to see if DP chimes in here
DSTRBD 07-13-2004, 12:02 PM Edge/Attitude set on 5 my LLY did 375-380 hp. With the Stage III Suncoast it did 415-420 hp. We did not try any other settings.
McRat 07-13-2004, 12:10 PM 246rwhp stock, 311rwhp after TTS Tow.
LLY DMAX 07-13-2004, 07:47 PM Thanks for the numbers guys, I'm really interested in how the new motor Performs compared to the LB7.
BTW What kind of dyno are you running on, Dynojet, Mustang, Other??
One other question for those of you "in the know". I talked to a shop owner here locally who "Should" know. But I am a little unsure if he is correct. He said that the edge with attitude does not require Any Transmission upgrades for the Allison. He said, "The Attitude will back off power before any damage will happen". "Because it monitors slippage". Is any of that true??? Do I need any transmission upgrade if I am only running the Edge.
I'm not planning on stacking and racing. I just would like an extra 90 -120 hp and have it be reliable.
Topgas 07-14-2004, 07:38 PM I've read on this site that around 90 hp is the limit for the LB7, thats what I have and haven't noticed any problems yet.
Diesel Tech 07-14-2004, 08:45 PM If the transmission begins to slip damage has already started, it's just a matter of time before real trouble starts. This is not an Edge problem, it a problem with more power than the transmission can handle. If you want long life with no trouble you will need to stay below 80 rwhp on a LB7 equipped vehicle and 60 rwhp on a LLY equipped vehicle. Any power settings above that will start excessive wear and tear on the transmission. A simple upgrade to the transmission and converter and you can move those number up to 500 rwhp or 900 ft lbs. So if you truly want/need 90 - 120 rwhp above stock you must upgrade the trans and converter to get long reliable service from the truck.
Dawgj77 07-14-2004, 08:56 PM How much does it cost to get the tranny up to 500HP? Whos the best, and where do you go to read up on em?
Thanks
Jared

Tom,
Here is what your truck did. tests were run on mustang load cell dyno, 30 second sweep time, tech 2 locked in 4th, OD lockout on, from 30-80MPH:
stock- 261.8 / 476.1
stock- 261.9 / 476.5
stock- 262.9 / 477.6
tts 50HP tow- 321 / 574.3
tts 50HP tow- 320.1 / 579
tts 50HP tow- 319.2 / 575.8
tts 50HP tow- 319.9 / 577.2
i still have the raw data values to plot into excel..

bigtree_nc 07-15-2004, 12:21 AM Are any upgrades needed for the manual Transmission for 90 plus HP.Thanks
tbone1227 07-15-2004, 04:56 PM Nick - thanks for posting, im glad I was somewhat close there on the numbers. Cant wait for a cooler from Mike http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif , and hopefully a new lift pump and all as well from Trippen http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif.
Bigtree - i would think you will want/need a tranny upgrade if running it strong over 90hp
Are any upgrades needed for the manual Transmission for 90 plus HP.Thanks
It's my understanding that the dual mass flywheel you've got won't take anything like 90HP let alone higher.
There are some folks here running them, but I don't really follow the threads too closely. Maybe one or two of them will chime in. I know the flywheel is a problem, GM even restricts the LLY output to the lower LB7 levels on the manual trans trucks.
I believe CPMac? has an upgraded flywheel set up available for the manual trans equipted trucks. Check the vendor section.
fuel007one 07-26-2004, 02:23 PM Anyone know what lly can get on 0-60 with edge juice+attitude?
dwrat 07-27-2004, 01:04 AM I am doing at in about 9.5 seconds or so.
Motivational 08-26-2004, 11:31 PM I just tested 0-60 with the juice w/attitude level 3 and nothing else done to it. It went 6.6seconds 0-60mph.
blowinsmoke 08-27-2004, 12:41 AM hey moti, how big is your terminator truck? crew cab, long bed??? 13 inch tires? just kiddinhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
dwrat 08-27-2004, 02:02 AM I think Moti is the newest BSer for the site. 6.6 0-60 wow!!!!!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif
Max Power 08-27-2004, 09:44 AM dwrat, my 2003 used to do it in 6.0 flat. My 2004 has no problem doing it in 6.4
This is just a 2wd launch with no spooling. With a 4x4 launch and some boost launching it would probably get to low 5's 0-60.
These are both with just the juice and attitude.Edited by: Max Power
baimpala 08-27-2004, 09:58 AM Are those metric seconds? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
Dennis
blowinsmoke 08-27-2004, 10:24 AM probably 0-60 FEET or 60 km/h http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clown.gif Edited by: blowinsmoke
baimpala 08-27-2004, 10:27 AM Probably metric feet.
All joking aside, mine FEELS like a RCH under 7 seconds to me, but I haven't had a good chance to measure it yet. The roads around here just aren't conducive to 0-60 measurements.
