Hi Guys,

I wanted to get some opinions from the D-Max knowledge base . . .

I have an '03 w/ tan leather interior. 1 yr old/36K miles. I am really starting to show some wear on the corners of the seat (drivers side - go figure http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif )

Anyhooo, Have any of you guys had the Wet Okole Seat Covers & if so, what did you think of them? Are they worth the money? I will gladly pay the asking price if that are as good as they look (1/4 - 1/2" of wet suit material & padding!!!)

They are SUPPOSED to protect your seats very well, but I have never seen a set & I know someone here has seen them before.

Wadda ya think about them?

I had a set on the last Cherokee since it had cloth and was a lease. They did protect the seats, didn't move around a lot, and seemed to fit well.

They're tough to clean, look funky with the rest of the interior even with a good color match, and are a witch to take off or put on with power seats.

So I guess it depends on what you want?

For me, neither this Cherokee with leather guts, or my truck with leather guts, have seat covers. The price of the Wet Okole's will put a serious dent in getting your leather seat fixed.

Anyway, those are my thoughts about them.

Ya, I thought about just getting the leather fixed, but if this "high quality" leather is going to break down every 30 -40K miles, I just thought I might come out ahead on the covers.

Besides, at $300.00 to replace the little bit of leather on the door side (the first seam area) of the bottom cushion, I would hate to see what it would be for the rest of the seat. I am trying to decide if I will come out ahead using the seat covers.

Thanx for the info! Anyone else have opinions, or alternative ideas? I really want to keep a decent/comfortable seat in this truck.

Try looking for a Color Glo franchise in your area. I own one here in Oregon. We specialize in restoring the finish on seats just like yours without havin gto replace the material. should cost between 65.00 and 150.00 depending on how bad your seats are worn. They can be made to look like new. this is a very common problem on many of the current vehichles. From my perspective thats not all badhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gif.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cool.gif

Thanks Mav3,

Never heard of this. I will look into it. Is this a "permanent" repair? What does this process do?

I could not find a lot of info on the web about it.

Thanx,

I have thenm in my 04 and love them. I have a red truck with dark gray and the match is really close. All gray seat with full red piping, seat pockets and Duramax Diesel on the seat. Got them for the front and rear and I must of been out of my mind for paying that much for seat covers. But I do beleive you get exactly what you pay with seat covers. Fit like a glove and water proof. Also added some comfort to the seat. I will try to take a picture tomorrow if I remember.

Here are some pictures. Pictures don't really do them justus. You can get a cleaning kit for them that is $12 when you buy the covers, and well worth it. The options I have are full piping, zipper pockets on the back of the front seats and the Duramax Diesel logo.

The repairs you need will make it look great, but cannot be expected to last longer than the origional finish. Try exiting the vehicle differently, don't just slide off and out. You're up there a ways and this puts a tremendous amount of wear on the side of the seat.

Mav3,

I have a set of step bars & I always use them. I have always sat down ino the seat & never slide out the side on exit.

The svc mng @ my dealership said that he was supprised that the seat lasted as long as it did. I guess the seat covers will have to do until I decide to re-cover the seat sometime in the future (with REAL leather).

I may have to make a run down to Mexico to get some thick / good quality leather, but I know I can find some down there.

Greg,

Those are some Nice Pix!. I was going to get the piping & the rear pocket myself, but a 4 - 6 week lead time was too long to wait. They had some covers in the plain Mocha/Black in stock, so I just got them.

I Put them on Sat & so far they are working great! Althought I will say that the passenger side was a b*tch compared to the drivers side . . . . (I don't know why??)

I will post some pix when i have some time.

Thanx for all the help guys!

for the 2 front . . . . about $225.00http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

They are very good & very well made. They do not move around on the seat at all!

Completely cover the head rest, armrest & everything else. So far, I think they will be worth it, but ask me in 10 yrs!
