Hi all just stubled upon this forum looking for info on my truck. I bought a 2001 chevy 3500 with a 6.6 liter diesel in April. It had 150,000 miles. I bought the truck for $11,000 bucks. Thought it was a pretty good deal. It was sitting on a dealers lot for about 4 monthes. It needed all new tires, new batteries, the drivers electric door lock isn't working. I put a new fuel pressure regulator on it too. Body is in good shape. Don't need a dually, was looking for a 3/4 ton but it was a good deal, hopefully lol. I havn't owned a diesel since my dad gave me his old 5.7l diesel carCensored.
I have the truck running good, and all cleaned up. I will be looking at servicing the allison tranny and hopefully the injectors hold out. I am told if they haven't had a problem yet they proably won't.
I do have an ace in the whole. My nieghboor is a chevy diesel mechanic at a dealership near by.
I am thinking about putting a larger exhaust and getting a chip or computer and a larger air intake. We will see if a motor with that many miles should be modded or if I should leave well enough alone.:grd:
