Is there a speedo output on the 4X4 4L80E trans in a '94 6.5?

I'm thinking about swaping the t-case to a 208, but I can only do it if I can get a speed signal from the tranny.

Thanks!

Bill

there is a speed sensor or a dummy plug on the drivers side rear of the case where the speed sensor would be in a 2wd model the problem is that there may or may not be a reluctor ring inside the trans only way to tell is to remove sensor or plug and look in through the hole to see if it is there if it is you can put a sensor there or use the one if it is there the only problem with doing this is trans will not shift corectly in 4 low because it is not getting a correct output signal will be reading way too fast and shift early

Perfect! I'll have to look next time i'm under the truck. I don't really care how it shifts in 4-low. I rarely use it, and when I do I'm in 1st gear anyway.

Thanks for the reply!

FYI - the reluctor is part of the clutch drum, and the rear sensor is usually installed in the 4wd versions.

reluctor is pressed on to the rear planetary and all 2wd trans have them only some 4wd trans have them especially if someone has rebuilt it alot of guys use old 400 planetarys in 4wd models between 89 - 96. 97 and newer models the planetarys are different than the old 400s the early ones only diff was reluctor so if it was 4wd and you had em on the shelf in they go lol!!

reluctor is part of the clutch drum for input sensor only

It was kinda fuzzy, so I checked you out, camarox - my bad, you are correct.

The output speed sensor ring is pressed onto the output carrier, as required.

My '95 4wd 4L80e has the sensor and the ring - good thing, as the '89 NP205 T\C has no easy provision for the late T\C VSS

Appreciate the correct input on the correct output, dude.
