: nav upgrade
tripplehemi 11-07-2006, 08:58 AM just finished doing a nav upgrade to my 2004 gmc.i added nav and bose to my truck which only had a base radio, had to add a console and amp and more wires than i can count but it can be done.it works very well, and i want to thank this site and all the info here.i could not have done it with out the diy nav install guide.sounds much better even with stock non bose speakers.
Bodysurfer 11-07-2006, 09:01 AM Glad to hear that you like it. So, you are still running non-bose speakers? Do you want to upgrade to bose speakers will you are at it?
tripplehemi 11-07-2006, 09:14 AM probably will eventually ,because thease probably wont last with a lux amp powering them.
tripplehemi 11-08-2006, 06:40 AM does any one know the correct map cd for a 15243335 head unit?
Bodysurfer 11-08-2006, 07:28 AM Nav disc right? Then it would be verison 3.0, 4.1 and the newest 5.0. I would try to get the lastest 5.0 or 3.0. Seems like some have had problems with some 4.1 disc.
IF you need part numbers, let me know. Or just just do a search at the BAY for gm nav disc.
TheBac 11-08-2006, 07:40 AM Wow. You were actually able to do it? Congrats! I know that would have been a huge project.
I've got a couple Bose front speakers and tweeters in my garage if you want them. I'm not sure how good they are, though.
Bodysurfer 11-08-2006, 07:43 AM Might have some in my BOSE Cabinet in the garage.;)
tripplehemi 11-08-2006, 04:50 PM was no easy project but i tell ya it was worth it it sounds awesom.good thing i work at a gmc dealer because i needed a pile of terminals.i have the amp programed for a sieara denali is that correct.it sounds good.and one other thing, does any one know why it switches from spacious to driver, when you change stations or turn the truck off.is this normal?
irishtornado 11-08-2006, 06:16 PM I think you want it programmed for Escalade EXT if you have a CC

Irish tornado has it correct....you only want Sierra Denali if you have an X-cab.
You'll laugh about this, but you have to set the sound field when you do your presets.
That way, when you set it, the sound field will be the same every time...
irishtornado 11-08-2006, 06:50 PM I know this was posted somewhere I just can't find it....what do you need to reprogram a NON LUX unit to LUX? Is it the Tech II programmer or is it more indepth?

NAV
TheBac 11-08-2006, 10:29 PM More indepth than just a tech2. short answer: Delphi radio repair house or machomachodan are the only ones that we know of that can do it..
Here's your previous thread asking the same question:
