Yesterday while coming into Bismarck, truck hiccupped once and then my SES light came on. After that,it seemed low on power, had lower boost, and engine had a louder rattle to it. I shut the truck off, restarted and everything was fine the rest of the day. When I got home, I pulled the codes and I got codes 18 and 35. From what I have learned here, it looks like IP is going. Anyone have any other ideas before I take her in to the dealer?

pump cam reference pulse error and short injection pulse width error.
as far as replacing the pump, see what TDG says first.

oooohhh... 35 and 36 are the dreaded Fuel Solenoid codes, short (35) being the more dreaded of the two. Likely cause, poppet valve spring wear/damage causing reduced pressure against the valve, thus shorter CT's, could also be Transfer pump wear as transfer pressure inside the pump affects CT. If it just happened once, I wouldn't rush to take the pump off, check the basics, lift pump op (lift pres/air affect Trans Pres which affects CT and timing) and check fuel filter. A big enough bubble in the system could cause both codes.Edited by: Texas Diesel Guy
