Just wondering about something that maybe you guys can help me with....
My new truck had the "power extending mirrors" (which i didnt order), so my question is why do these mirrors not have to have any "extra" marker lights mounted on them?
Isn't the overall width the determining factor, such as the dooleys, and trailers, etc?
Just curious.
BTW, anyone want to swap mirrors for the normal ones, these things blow!

Not sure if I understand your question right but if the body of your vehicle is wider than 80in your supposed to have 5 amber lights on the roof and four lights in the rear i think, this probly doesnt include the mirrors though. Does your truck have the amber lights on the roof? is your question why the mirrors dont have another light on them, because i dont know about that.

You understood correctly. These mirrors are so freakin' wide I feel like I will not off people on the sidewalks. I was hoping in lieu of a class action lawsuit that GM would just swap out the mirrors (which I didn't order) for the amber roof markers ( that I did order)....

I too have the towing mirrors, and find they stick out *quite* far. I wish they were more like the towing mirrors on the ferds, that pull away from the body and have the 2 sections of glass. Ahh well.
As far as marker lights, does anybody have a part number for them? I had the parts guy try and look them up and he came up short handed.
Thanks
Gary
I now in Canada the over all width is 102". The mirrors do not count. I just spoke with the Hwy police ( MTO ) on this very subject.
