This is my first post on this site. I just bought a 99 f-250 with the 7.3. I pull a fiberglass boat and so far, I am very impressed by the power. I want to install a power module with out having to modify the rest of the truck. The main reason why I want to do this is to gain fuel economy, however more power is always good! What would be the best module for what I want to do? How much mpg can I expect to gain? Thanks for the help..........:help:

buddy of mine has a 2000 7.3 and he has the bully module, and it did make a pretty decent power difference. as far as mpg im guessing 3-5mpg, i dont know for sure. as far as a module for you ided say you best bet is eaither bully or banks.
heres a link to the banks one. http://store.bankspower.com/Categories.aspx?Category=c81edb3e-cd80-4ab6-956e-e7c8acbdcb0a
remember nothing goes better with a new module than a nice exhaust:)

First off you need to find out if you have an early or late 99 model. Secondly I would get some guages on it. And third give DPTUNER a call and have him burn you a chip for it.

Hey guys, after doing some reasearch, I'm thinking about getting the TS Performance module for my 7.3. It sounds like its easy to install and works really well. It has the 6 different settings. What do you all think?

To run all levels you will need gauges. Imo if you just want a little more power and want to pick up fuel milage without gauges I would go with superchips they have a 30 day money back garanty. It also has a 110hp setting that requires gauges.

Well, I've been calling around and it seems that each place I talk to have different programmers that they want to sell me. The most recomended ones are the edge evolution, superchips, ts, hypertech.... Also, there has been a discrepancy on if I am going to need gauges or not? VERY CONFUSED!!! I talked to a guy who has the same truck as me and he told me that he had the superchips and it was a very good product. He switched to the edge evolution and said that it is even better... He did say that I would need gagues. Another salesperson that I talked to was pushing the hypertech lll. He told me that he sells lots of them and that he has not had any complaints... This person told me that i DID NOT need gauges and that I would have hp increase up to 117hp?
PLEASE HELP!
I want a product that is fairly easy to install and that I won't have to do any major mods. If I can, I would like to find something with out gagues or exhaust. I am planning on an air intake system.
What I want
1) increased fuel
2) increase in power and torque are a bonus. seems that i will get this from most of the products.
3) better throttle response
Thanks in advance for the help!

Anyone who tells you that you don't need gauges is just stupid or lying. First line of protection will always be gauges. One easy way to do it is to go with Edge. You can get the monitors with the module and they have gauges in them. Some even come with cooldown timers.
Go to www.edgeproducts.com and you will find lots of info. I like Edge a lot because they add a lot of engine and trans protection for those who don't want to cook the truck. I highly recommend these products and you will see good power gains and fuel economy too. HOWEVER. Any time you increase power you should be mindfull that you will add stress to the torqueconverter if you have an Auto trans. AND Gauges are critical. :ro)
