I am new to owning a diesel however a friend of mine has had a cummins in the past that he was pushing over 500hp, so I am aware of the issues that can be caused with the extreme hp. I am looking to go with a tuner to help increase hp and fuel mielage but I want to keep an eye on my exhaust temps. Researching the sites and I see that most have monitors that contain the digital gauges. I would like the input regarding some of them and what important items do you think is a must have. I do not intend to race this truck, just a daily driver with intentions for a camper...

Oh and thanks for the great site guys...:cool2:

Edge Juice w/Attitude is pretty much the favorite around here for all in one performance. It gives you five on the fly power levels, and built in gauges. The drivability is nice, and it has all the features you need for what you are going to use it for.

Banks would also be an option with the PDA but it will be a bit more $$$ than the edge and it will be more difficult to take out when you go to the dealer.

I have seen Bully Dog's go a little cheaper what is their down fall? What is their display like. I like the A pillar set up, makes for a clean look. Does the Bully Dog help limit power when problems are found like the EDGE?

Also are their any problems reported with people buying used units? i.e. VIN code marrying. I read the write regarding the Predator unit, but I would like more advice.

The Bully Dog Triple Dog with Outlook works well for me. You can check all the features at www.bullydog.com (http://www.bullydog.com) The BD unit can read and erase codes which is one feature I really like especially when (notice I didn't say If) you limp your transmission. Some have complained of timing rattle with the tunes but I don't notice it that much.I also like the fact that I can upgrade the software online.

Here is a pic of my Outlook mounted on the dash.
