Since i am new to the GM/LBZ world and the wonderful Allison 06, i need a little schooling. To start i have the Predator Tow program installed. Today i was pulling Cuesta grade north bound here in Cen Cal. A rather typical steep incline of non varying degrees from start to finish. Pulling a 10k fiver, i notice the truck doesn't like to down shift at full throtle. i hit the hill at 65mph and began to slowly fall. I put the pedal to the floor and it shifted down and held even as i fell below 55mph, pedal to the floor, 2600rpm and 1200 on the EGT. Knowing this thing out pulls my 05 Ford 6.0, I shifted to manual and saw it was in 4th, so flipped it to 3rd. I got 3300rpms, 1300 egts and it quickly climbed to 60mph. Not really feeling the EGTs in the red i shift back to auto and it went right back into 4th and slowed down again. What the HECK! Is this the Predator programing or does the Allison like to lug this truck? My 7.3 and 6.0 fords loved to shift down and test the limits of the spinning parts.
