: Downpipe leak

Nine months ago I had a Banks Brake installed.

Recently I have acquired a leak in the joint at the pipe and turbo outlet. At first I thought it was the press in probe for my pyrometer. This am I put a new gasket on the probe and discovered that in was in fact the exhaust pipe flange leaking and not the probe.

The only time it leaks is when the brake is closed for warm up in the am, or, I am sure it leaks when the brake is activated.

I have tightened it up almost to the end of the threads, and it still leaks a little bit, well maybe a lot.

Is it possible that the Banks equipment is torqueing the flange to make it leak.

How do I tighten it up. I'm afraid to tighten much more for fear that I might strip the threads, or break the band on the joint. Do I have to undo the bolts at the cat and reset the joint??

Thanks in advance.
