manybikes 11-05-2006, 01:03 PM hello im new to post. i have a 99 K3500 reg cab 4X4 125k. i have a little up and down play on the turbo shaft. checked it about 1,000 mikes ago and was good and tight. how long do i have? before it comes apart and destroyes the engine? is there a good rebuild kit out there for the gm8? or is it best to get a rebuilt or new one?:help: thanks manybikes 11-07-2006, 06:03 PM wow what great help:rolleyes: jimmyt83 11-07-2006, 06:19 PM Mine has had shaft play for as long as can remember. How bad is the play?? Bad enough to chip the blades off of the impeller?? If not, it'll be alrite for a while...mine's had play for at least 50,000 miles, and has just recently gotten bad enough to start chipping the blades. Hope this helps...if it worries you, replace/rebuild it. Oh yeah, there are rebuild kits...they are on Ebay all the time...not sure where else to get them.
