I'm having issues with the driver's side front tire cupping out on the inside of the tire.
I rotated about 3,000 miles ago, and now current tire in this position is also cupping out like the one before it. I replaced shocks with Bilsteins the same time I rotated because board members suggested that a weak shock could cause poor tire wear. The ride is of course better--tire wear is not.
The tires are 265/75/16 REVOs, and they're just about shot now. They haven't cupped out until nearing the end of their useful life.
I need to get this corrected, as I have Nokian Hakkas being installed this week as snow tires, and I don't want these expensive treads wearing off poorly.:help:
Is it an alignment issue?

Check idler and pitman and alignment.

Will do on that, div4gold--appreciate the help.
My family has been running a fleet of GM trucks for years, and it seems like we are constantly plagued by tires cupping on the front end. Our local tire man, who I've recently banned from working on my personal vehicles, has never been able to solve the problem. I didn't own the trucks, so it wasn't my call to fire the tire man. I blamed a lot of it on the ****ty tires he was selling...
With the help of this site, I'm learning some good stuff!
P.S. I'm also having the hard steering issue related to the hydroboost. My tires are very hard to turn when I'm stopped unless idle is elevated to increase hydroboost effort. Is it related to my tire issues?

Check ball joints, tie rod ends and the toe. If the truck is toed out for some reason it will eat the insides of each front tire down. Could cause un even wear. Check all those things. I am sure it is one of them, or a combo of two or more.
Good Luck

I think you are going to be happy with the Nokians. I put a set of Nokian [Vativas] on My truck and so far I like them well enough to buy nothing but Nokians from now on.

the tire man you fired may purposely have your front end out of wack so he could sell more tires!

While I wouldn't put it past him):h , he's never touched my current truck. It's got 56,000 on it and hasn't been aligned since it left the factory--tire wear was very even until the last few thousand miles.
I'm afraid it's more than just alignment though--I likely need the pitman and idler braces along with new OEM parts. This thing is a money pit!:(
