Can anyone tell me about the sulfur rating at the pumps now, I have a 04.5 all stock. Do I need to be adding an additive everytime I fill up or is that just for the 07 and later that need the additive. I see on the pump it says not to run in 07 and later models but I have heard of people's injection pump and other parts going bad due to lack of lubricration from the lower sulfur rating.

Thank you

Seen all fuels change over the years. No problems. Don't think there will be any when the low sulphur diesel fuel is all that is on the market.

The fuel currently at the pumps is produced with other lubricating additives instead of sulpher. This is nothing to worry about as this fuel powers millions of vehicles every day. Some say that you should run additives. You will definately get mixed opinions regarding what additives to run, if any at all.

Personally, I run Power Services cetane boost and anti gel during the winter months only. I've never had a problem with any fuel or any additive. Its gets mighty cold up here and when winter grade fuel comes out (Oct-April), fuel economy drops as does power and performance. Stanadyne is a popular additive for diesel drivers. Try a search here for Stanadyne or additives and I bet you'll come up with about 1000 pages of fuel discussions. I hope this helped.

Also, breeze through the fluids discussion page. There's another 1000 pages of fuel discussions that people have had before you that you may be interested in.

i would still use some additives until we see how the new fuel will effect our engines. better safe than sorry!

That label is 500ppm LSD. Not as urgent to add lubricity on LSD as it is ULSD since LSD been out since pre 1996. I always add some lubricity. ):h

Vegetable oil is quite luby.
If you don't shop costco, wall mart sells 48oz bottles of oil for $1.48/ea. Not to bad.
