My truck has 3200 miles on it now, notice chirping sound at idle. Has anyone had a problem with belt or idler pulleys. Just curious before i take it in.

I had the same problem with my LLY, it would squeel until it got good and warm...i took it back to the dealer and they put a new GM belt on it..so far so good....They said they checked all the pulleys and everythin was good except for the belt.....

oh yeah, truck had about 1100 on it at the time

My 2002 LB7 has chirpped since it was new. It has never slipped though. Truck has 98,000 miles without any problems.

Mine did the same thing the day after I picked it up. They put a new belt on it and it's been quiet ever since.

same here, noticed it in the first few days after i got her, took it in and they replaced all the pulleys and belt, seems ok now, everyone once in a while will hear some of the chirping but it goes right away, i guess that part is normal

Mine too. First they replaced the belt but it ended up being the idler arm pulleys. Replaced both and no more sqeek.

does anyone know how to stop the squeek at shut off? is that a belt or is that characteristic (sp?) for the dmax?

95geo, that's normal, they all do because of compression in motor, thanks for the info guys
