Did you get the 95 or 155 hp version?

no matter, the box does not make the same low rpm torque the juice makes but it does love to rev with this box. pilot rattle is more noticeable on decel, but it is reasonably smooth with just a hint of fishbite

it is a boyracer box... loves its rpms and very decent power maker... on 155 hp watch for the zzzing in 5th though

seems to play well with the juice too. tranny mods at that point are a non-negotiable upgrade!

it is capable of 155 but i only can go up to 95 (didnt pay for the code),..sorry for being a newbie but i currently have 4 inch. maganflow exhaust, airraid intake, and a bully dog power pup what kinda horsepower do you think i would make and with some decent driving what would be a good quater mile time for what i currently have. thanks for the help

should be good for appx 335-345 RWHP with an intake and exhaust in place

Should see a Q/M of 14.8 to 15.2 seconds

When I put mine on I noticed a great increase in throttle response. When I took it off and put my edge juice on I was kind of disappointed in the difference in driving. The Juice makes good low power but to me it just wasn't responsive as the Pup. So now I run with bothhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

I love the way the pup pulls on the top. And I get about 16mpg in the city.

dbloyd,

You can, just have to watch it and drive nice. Gauges are still not a bad option for any upgrades that you do..

I have a friend that has the Bullydog Powerpup and he runs it on the 95hp setting. The only other mod he has is a K&N intake. It runs a 15.2 in the 1/4 mile.

The power pup definately has some cojones in the 2700RPM and up area.... the only other unit i have tried myself that liked to live up there was a Vanaaken box.

But FWIW i hear steve cole's programming is also comfortable in those rpm ranges

Also I read soem of these guys are doin 12's is this in the 1/4 or the 1/8? If its the 1/4 whats needed to get those #?s(lol besides a good tranny)

The pup stacks well with the juice.. just get one with the timing looped out or it is extremely noisy at part throttle and coast down.

by stacking, in essence you are lengthening the injector pulsewidth more and simply adding more fuel.

BUT EGT's skyrocket even with 4" exhaust and AFE filter, Tranny upgrades become a necessity rather than a luxury.

The Quad rattles just like the power pup at part throttle and cruise down. Similar boxes. Takes some time to get comfortable with.

A stock duramax will have no problems with a 95hp box if he is not pulling. Many will suggest an EGT if your pulling.

For those here talking about stacking, you need to research about the tranny and available upgrades.

what do you mean, when you say rattles? does the power pup make the normal engine noise loader? or does it produce a diff sound? is it something we can live with?

The "rattle" from my Quad Stealth 215hp box makes a little louder engine noise at times. Nature of the "hot" beast. The rattle is not as loud or an issue at all in lower tunes. I have learned to live with it for the power I get. If I had this extra noise with a 95hp tune I would say no its not worth it. Sounds like rocker arm clatter. There was a post somewhere that describes mechanically whats happening. Seems like the noise has something to do with the timing.

If I run Edge Attitude only I do not get this extra engine noise.

I will say the Quad 215 hp tune is not for the every day driver though, and of course you must have a built tranny.

The diesel ADDICTION is only your first box away. Then its a phone call for the 150 hp code...and etc. etc. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

If you decide to go with the the 155hp program, have them program it before they ship it. That way, you don't have to fuss about giving them a call later. Two of my friends and I did it this way.

yea my truck is my 1st love. i drive the t-type when i want to go insanely fast. i beleive i could be happy with just the 95 hp tune, cause i really don't want to do any trany upgrades to my truck, witch is my daily driver. don't want to sacrifice its reliability. i do have a k&n air filter and plan on a dual 4 inch exhaust, i heard one and really like the sound.

Some say that the Power pup and the Stealth are the same box with different labels on them. I do not know if this is true. I have the Quadzilla Stealth 135 old version, and new version. (I did not want to lose the program that I knew was good for stacking. who knows when it may come in handyhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif ) The new version is louder and has lots more power down low.

I run it on the 135 setting 100% of the time, and as long as I am careful I can tow 10,000# anywhere I drive. If you try this, you need to make sure cruise control is off while in big hills with a load. Using cruise is a sure bet way of limping the transmission while towing.

If I play the throttle just right going in to 5th gear, I can run a 14 flat in the 1/4 mile according to the G-Tech Pro Comp. At about 96-97 mph.

You should never have transmission trouble running a 95 hp tune. I do not recall ever hearing/reading about anyone limping the transmission with anything less then 120 rwhp.

Definately TRUE.

ATMEL 8 bit Chipset flash programmer http://www.atmel.com/dyn/products/datasheets.asp?family_id=607

I would have to pop the cover to give you the exact model, but FWIW anyone who really wants to know can find out.

You can also obtain translator/programmers from there as well if you wanted to experiment a little

If i had a dyno i am sure i would be more inclined to start programming

on edit... the programming can be changed between PPE/Bully/Quad.

All it takes is some dyno time, a laptop computer, translator and software.Edited by: Got Juice?

I have had both at the same time and they appear to be the same box. The boxes have a few of the same features, so I think Quad reprograms the box for his products.

So, does the power pup adjust for tire size on the 04 LB7? Everything I have read says that it removes speed limiter on 2002-2003 and ajusts for tire size. Just want to make sure before I buy one. (I only want to adjust for tire size right now)

"Tire size correction only" yea right.....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

The option is there for tire size. I would think the box would adjust the tire size unless the function was not worrking properly. I have seen a Bully Dog box that the tire size function was supposed to work but was "broke". The box was to be returned and the tire size program function repaired.

Yeah, I only need the tire-size changed. I already have a TST Powermax Programmer. That is more than enough to smoke the tranny. The stacking function will come at a later time once I have upgraded the tranny. Thanks for the reply.
