I have noticed a wierd sound at times in the back end of the box. Any ideas out there? My friend with 2004 Dmax has same issue. Had a 2002 gasser 6.0 with the same sound too. What is it? Happens at different times with different degrees of bumps. :( Help.

Maybe you lost one of the little bushings on the leaf springs.

Do you have the same wife when you owned both trucks???? I know you don't want them up front where the action is, but sometimes they have a definite "whine" when you make them sit in the back!! LOL

Did you even look into the leaf spring noise that was an initial response to your query? That's the most common noise complaint reason.

If the bushings are fine then check your nerf bars if you have them. If they are loose or not properly installed they will make a racket when the body flexes. Check those bushings first though.

I chased what I initially thought was the infamous "steering clunk" for 2 months before a dealer took my truck and kept it for a couple days. He drove it cold, hot, wet it with a hose underneath, etc and finally they decided it was the leaf springs just moving around. The noise happened almost exclusively at very slow speed on irregular terrain.
They pulled the springs out and seperated the leafs, cleaned and lubed them, reassembled and reinstalled, and the noise was gone. I was not missing any of the isolators.
May be your problem too http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Smile.gif
