Hey Guys...

Some of you might already know..I just picked up my 03 MAX..anyways I am a young guy (18) and am into fast things and putting ppl to shame, hehe but I also will be using the truck for hauling boats and such..

Anyways my truck has 92K miles(mainly highways..the previous owner was a older gentleman, from what i could tell on the phone..maybe 50's)

What i am wondering is if it would be ok to maybe program her, throw a pipe on her and get an intake?or would it cause problems...

Also whats the cheapest way to upgrade the tranny to hold that power (like whats the price to have it installed)?

But I am wondering, whats the best way to maybe get 100more hp outta her w/out breaking the bank or the truck..

And lastley, whats the ole Duramax sound like a/ no muffler..and could I have a exhaust place build me a 4in system and still get lower egt??

Thanks a Bunch..

Joe

One of the best bangs for the buck so to speak is a Juice attitude combo. Dont run her past the 90 hp if you want long term trany life. Well actually let me get back to you on that since i will be pulling the trany next weekend to install my trany and I'll tell you what the clutches look like and if i still stand by this statement.

If you want to upgrade the trany it depends on how far you want to go power wise. Hastings MI? Talk to dmaxallitech(eric) he can tell you about what he can install for what price. What he installs depends on what power level you want to go to. Or if you wana do the install yourself thats another option. I will be sticking a kit in my truck on the weekend of the 17-18(next weekend I think starting fri) if you wanted to cruise down to Peoria IL and see it in action(I'd let you try out my juice too).

Sound is 100% subjective. You can get a straightpipe put in the place of your muff for pretty cheap and it will net a deccent drop in EGT's. I have a 4-5" kennedy exhaust with the muffler removed and i really like the sound, some dont.

Intake dosnt add much except sound. I wouldnt spen money on one if you are looking for a power increase. IMO call up John Kennedy and get a UNI filter and throw it in there. Not because of power increases but because at 25$ a whack for a factory filter the UNI will pay for itself quickly. Dont chuck your paper in the garbage though, save it so you can stick it back in when you clean the UNI. Do a search on swisscheesing or look at kennedy's site under the tips

I dont think you will find a shop that can mandrel bend 4" but i duno? probably cheaper to buy a bolt on system. My system was easy to install with regualer tools(did need to jack up the back i think to get the old out) Edited by: ratlover

I just got a edge attitude today. This is probly the best way to add some hp, costs bout 800 bucks with the monitor. 125hp and 300tq i think...I do plan on getting new exhaust, 5 in turbo back maybe, and new intake.
