I do not know which engine to go with because i would like a big block but i would like to have a 69 duramax having an old truck that blows tons of smoke out would be the shit but i do not know the grouse weights of either of the engines so i would like any help or ideas of how to get a duramax with a six speed transmission under my hood thanks

Go D-Max. Someday I'm going to try it as I love 67-72's. I have one but it's not good enough to put a D-Max in,so I'll have to find another. Finding a wrecked 6spd may be difficult but by all means try to find one cause that would be awsome.

Definatley put a dmax in it, that would be unique and eat up most big blocks:ro)

I'm building a turboed 5.3 for my dads '72 4x4 right now. Should run all right and ride pretty nice on air bags also :)

I'm sorry i guess i should tell you what the truck is right now its a 3/4 ton long horn rear wheel drive with a 350 mounted to a 400 power glide transmission its a camper special so i think the whole trucks definitley beefy enough to take the duramax allison combo but i would like to find a one ton front axle so i can make it a four wheeling monster so i hope that helps
