I purchased my duramax a few months ago. I pull a 28' gooseneck horse trailer. My fan clutch started sticking while pulling the trailer 70 miles at 75 mph. I took it to the dealer they said all was fine, but didn't seem to confident in their answers I had asked them about my truck. I can understand the fan clutch engaging at idle but not going down the highway. Now the fan clutch will engage with or without a trailer behind my truck. Any info would be greatly appreciated.</TD></TR></T></TABLE>

If I have the air conditioning on while towing and running 70mph, the fan clutch will engage on my truck also.

What kind of air temperatures are you seeing? What kind of engine temperatures are you seeing? Do you have anything blocking air flow? (bug screen, push bar etc) How many miles on your truck? Is your rad plugged with bugs?

I wouldn't think it would be normal for it to run for an entire 70 mile trip. But there are some things that would add to the duration.

The fan clutch reacts to temps that come from the trans cooler, the A/C condenser, the turbo charger intercooler and the radiator. Those temps will not show up on the gauges. So, it will work when it needs to.
